The Memory Lab

Introducing the Carnegie Carnegie’s newest resource: our DIY digitization station, the Memory Lab!

Made possible by a Gismondi VITAL grant, the Memory Lab lets you safeguard your memories by preserving them in a digital format. The Memory Lab’s equipment allows you to:

  • Scan photos and documents at high resolution
  • Digitize old home videos on VHS
  • Digitize audio cassette tapes
  • Scan 135/126/110 slides and 35mm/110/126/Super 8 film negatives
  • Retrieve files from 3.5″ floppy disk

To request an appointment, please email Library Director Walker Evans or call 412-276-3456. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
