Community

Welcome to the Community Resources area listing
local information and special programs.

Carnegie Main Street

Carnegie Borough incorporated on March 1, 1894, when Chartiers and Mansfield merged to become one. The Library & Music Hall was Andrew Carnegie’s legacy gift to the town that took his name. The ACFL&MH and the Borough share a very special relationship.

The Borough of Carnegie website provides a wealth of community information, forms and permits, local ordinances, business listings, and more.

ORAL HISTORY

The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall and the Historical Society of Carnegie worked together in 2024 to document Borough residents’ memories of hearing accounts of the 1923 Ku Klux Klan invasion of Carnegie in their youth.

The Carnegie Oral History Project Committee consisted of Carol Dlugos, Walker Evans, Ana Giampa, Alan James, Jeff Keenan, and Dan McGrogan. Sincere thanks to all of our interview participants!
