Studio Jazz Series: Tania & Jeff Grubbs
May 29 @ 7:00 pm
Tania Grubbs returns to the Carnegie Carnegie for an intimate evening of live jazz in The Studio. Known for her expressive interpretations and original compositions, Tania brings a thoughtful, deeply human approach to the music she performs.
She’ll be joined by a stellar ensemble featuring her husband, Jeff Grubbs, a virtuoso equally at home in the worlds of jazz and classical music. In addition to his dynamic work as a jazz bassist, Jeff is a member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Rounding out the group are James Johnson III on drums and Clifford Barnes at the keys.
The evening’s performance will include selections from Tania’s brand-new album, The Sound of Love, which will also be available for purchase at the concert.
“Grubbs’ ability to blend her soothing voice seamlessly into the fabric of the music, treating it as an instrument in its own right, sets this album apart…” – Glenn Daniels — The Jazz Page
