Pop Classics: “Bridget Jones’s Diary”

Join film buff Scott Nicolson for our series Pop Classics, where we talk about and watch the movies that most influenced pop culture over the last few decades.

Tonight we’ll view Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001), directed by Sharon Maguire. The single Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) must navigate the affections of two men: her boss at a publishing company (Hugh Grant) and her childhood acquaintance (Colin Firth). Based on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, which celebrates its 210th publishing anniversary this month!
