PJO Emerging Jazz Artist Series: Alex Weibel

The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra and the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall continue their collaboration with a second season of the Emerging Artist Series, spotlighting rising artists alongside some of Pittsburgh’s most accomplished jazz musicians. This multi-generational series honors the city’s rich jazz legacy while highlighting the voices shaping its future.
Alex Weibel is an educator, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He plays guitar, mandolin, and other fretted instruments professionally in a variety of styles including jazz, blues, pop, and theatre. Since picking up the guitar at the age of 8, Alex has studied with Ian Arthurs, Ken Karsh, Eric Susoeff, Mark Koch, Thomas Kikta, Mark Strickland, and Dan Wilson. As a freelance musician, Alex maintains a busy schedule performing with Pittsburgh jazz artists such as Thomas Wendt, Paul Thompson, Eric Susoeff, Mike Tomaro, Jeff Bush, Scott Boni, and Dwayne Dolphin.

Onsite parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Public lot and street parking in Carnegie are free on evenings and weekends. A free parking shuttle will be provided for this concert and runs from the public lot across from Carnegie Coffee at 132 E. Main Street. Look for the shuttle stop sign and the yellow school bus.
Please note the shuttle does not have a wheelchair lift.
