National Poetry Month: A Reading with Poet Laureate Samuel Hazo

April 22, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall to celebrate poetry all April long!

Tonight we welcome Pennsylvania’s first Poet Laureate, Samuel Hazo. Named as Poet Laureate by Governor Robert Casey in 1993, Mr. Hazo served in this esteemed position for ten years. His work scrutinizes themes of family and faith, mortality and love, and the passage of time with what poet Naomi Shihab Nye describes as “immense intelligence, lyricism, and humanity.” Mr. Hazo will share poems spanning his distinguished six-decade career.

This virtual program will be held via Zoom. When you register, you will receive a link to the program. You may also watch live at www.facebook.com/CarnegieCarnegie.
