Carnegie Carnegie Family Performance – “Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas” Movie with Live Music by the Sweaty Already String Band

Carnegie Carnegie Family Performances brings kids and their grown-ups together for live music and storytelling from some of the best performers in the Pittsburgh area. Geared toward young audiences but enjoyable for all ages, each show is an engaging introduction to seeing the arts live.

Celebrate the season with a heartwarming afternoon as Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas plays on the big screen with live music by the Sweaty Already String Band. Known for their lively bluegrass sound, tight harmonies, and joyful stage presence, the band captures the homespun spirit of Emmet and his friends with warmth, humor, and toe-tapping energy.

This charming holiday classic follows Emmet and his mother, Ma Otter, as they each secretly enter a talent contest to buy one another Christmas gifts. Filled with heart, humor, and delightful Muppet magic, the film celebrates love, generosity, and the true spirit of the season.

Last year’s show sold out, so this year we’re moving to the Music Hall! With more seats available, even more families can join the fun, but we still expect a full house. Get your tickets early!
