Embracing Our Differences: MLK/FBI

January 31, 2022 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

NOTE: This program has been rescheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday, January 31 due to the weather conditions.

Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr Day at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall with a free screening and discussion of the critically acclaimed 2020 documentary MLK/FBI. This event is part of our continuing series on social justice, Embracing Our Differences.

From IMDB: “The first film to uncover the extent of the FBI’s surveillance and harassment of Martin Luther King, Jr. Based on newly discovered and declassified files, the documentary explores the government’s history of targeting Black activists, and the contested meaning behind some of our most cherished ideals. From Emmy Award winning director Sam Pollard and featuring interviews with Andrew Young, James Comey, Clarence Jones, and more.”

A brief discussion will follow the film. We hope you join us!
