Embracing Our Differences: ‘Gender Queer’

January 23, 2023 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

Our social justice discussion group resumes with a conversation about Maia Kobabe’s comic memoir Gender Queer. Gender Queer follows Maia Kobabe (who uses e/em/eir pronouns) in eir journey of identity, self-acceptance, and love. It also serves as a helpful introduction to gender identity – what it means, how it works, how to think about it. Gender Queer has been the target of numerous book bans since its publication in 2019 – in fact, it has been the most targeted title in the United States for the past two years.

Copies of the book are available at the Library’s checkout desk. Free digital copies are also available via the Hoopla app. Please join us!
