Divas Survival Guide is a celebration of the legendary women of Broadway whose songs have inspired generations. In the intimate setting of the Studio, best friends Jeremy Mikush, who has toured with “Alaska” from RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Michelle Tibble, who played “Donna” in the national tour of Mamma Mia, take audiences on a musical journey through Broadway’s greatest divas. Expect numbers made famous by Bernadette Peters, Judy Garland, Linda Eder, Marin Mazzie, and Elaine Stritch, plus stories of friendship, resilience, heartbreak, and laughter along the way. This cabaret is a love letter to the divas who got them through life’s toughest moments.
Jeremy Mikush (aka Handsome Jeremy) is a Ringgold High School and University of Pittsburgh graduate, thrilled to return to the Pittsburgh stage. They are best known as musical director for bestie and RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite Alaska, touring internationally across four continents over 13 years and co-writing the revolutionary album Amethyst Journey, along with Alaska hits including “Water Runs Clear” and “It’s a Drag” from Drag: The Musical. A joyful, genre-spanning improviser, Jeremy has hosted live karaoke and piano bar nights at Mary’s in Garfield and the Blue Moon in Lawrenceville, given sound baths, and taught music lessons (and kindergarten).
Michelle Tibble (aka Mitzi Diva) was born and raised in Pennsylvania’s Mon Valley and graduated from Ringgold High School and Point Park University. She is best known for her portrayal of Donna Sheridan in the national Broadway tour of Mamma Mia!, and recently appeared as Lead Soloist in A Tribute to Sondheim with Chicago’s 4 Chairs Theatre and as Diana Goodman in Paramount Theatre’s acclaimed Next to Normal. You may also spot her in commercials for YUMBO, Sears, AT&T, and Progressive.
