Carnegie Carnegie Studio Jazz Series – Dr. Alton Merrell
April 23 @ 7:00 pm
The Carnegie Carnegie Studio Jazz Series brings outstanding jazz artists to the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall’s Studio for up close performances in a relaxed, welcoming setting. From classic swing and soul infused jazz to modern grooves and adventurous ensembles, the series highlights the breadth of the jazz tradition while keeping the experience personal, intimate, and accessible.
Dr. Alton Merrell is a world-class pianist, composer, and educator whose artistry blends lyrical melodies, rich harmonic language, and fluid technique across multiple jazz traditions. Equally compelling as a composer and interpreter, Merrell brings depth and intention to every performance—whether presenting original works or re-imagining music commissioned in tribute to jazz’s great voices.
