Anne Frank, Otto Frank, and the Holocaust: with Father John Neiman
October 6 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

When John Neiman first read The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, he couldn’t have anticipated the lifelong impact that this iconic account of the persecution of European Jews would have on him. Unable to forget Anne’s words, he wrote a letter to her surviving father, Otto Frank, in 1974 and the two men soon became close friends. Otto’s steadfast belief in the goodness and dignity of all people would later inspire John to join the priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church.
Tonight, Father John offers a rare opportunity to learn about the Franks and their experiences during the Holocaust from a source close to the family. Please join us as we experience this important connection with history – a powerful reminder that hatred and dehumanization can lead to the darkest of places, but that the power of hope and belief in goodness can inspire us to acts of kindness and beauty.
