Tickets

Revered guitarist and beloved Pittsburgh icon Joe Negri returns to the Music Hall on October 7 to perform his Mass of Hope featuring the Bach Choir under the direction of Thomas Douglas. Performing with Negri are Max Leake on piano, Tony DePaolis on bass and Tom Wendt, percussion with guests Gavin Horning on guitar and Natalie Tomaro, soloist.

A Pittsburgh icon and guitar legend, Joe Negri has distinguished himself as a nationally acclaimed performer, recognized composer, renowned actor and respected educator for decades. He may be most familiar to national audiences for his 30-year tenure as the affable Handyman Negri on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood (PBS).

Now in his 10th decade, Negri began developing his Mass in the mid-1960’s, incorporating typical jazz styles with harmonies and syncopations, bringing the classic liturgy to life. In a Post-Gazette interview, Negri commented, “If you like popular music or jazz, I think you will get a lot out of it…Parts of it can even get you off your feet a little bit and get you clapping your hands.”

Doors open at 7:00 pm || Concert begins at 7:30 pm
