When we launched our Milestone Matching Campaign on July 4, we knew we had a remarkable opportunity ahead of us.
In celebration of 125 years of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and 250 years of our nation, a generous anonymous donor offered to match every gift made to the library, dollar-for-dollar, up to $125,000, for a total campaign goal of $250,000.
With our campaign underway, the question then became: Could our community really come together to unlock the full match by the Oct. 1 deadline?
Just over six weeks later, the answer seems to be a resounding yes!
We are thrilled to share that we have already surpassed the halfway point and are now more than 80% of the way toward our $250,000 goal. Our community’s response has been incredible, and a powerful reminder of how much the Carnegie Carnegie means to our patrons and neighbors.
As if this were not exciting enough, September brings another reason to celebrate — and another opportunity for community support to go even further.
September is Love Your Library month, and all donations made to the library during the month will receive an additional prorated match thanks to the Allegheny County Library Association’s match pool funded by the Jack Buncher Foundation, NiSource Charitable Foundation and Columbia Gas.
We are so grateful to all who have helped us get so far so fast. As we enter the final stretch of the campaign this September, now is the time to give and help get us across the finish line. We have just $22,000 left to raise from the community.
After 125 years, the Carnegie Carnegie is still going strong because generations of people have believed that this place is worth supporting.
With your help, we can carry our legacy forward and ensure this extraordinary community resource continues to inspire, connect and serve for generations to come.
