The Library & Music Hall’s elevator is currently out of service for repair. Due to the age of the elevator and the need for specialized parts, it may not be working until the end of August 2026.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are exploring alternate accessibility options to allow patrons who use wheelchairs to access the main floor of our building, which includes the Library and the Music Hall. We regret that the downstairs Studio and second-floor Lincoln Gallery will likely remain accessible only by stairs until the repair is complete.
The Carnegie Carnegie recognizes the importance of access to our building, and we are taking every step we can to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, if you have questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to Executive Director Marlee Gallagher; Accessibility Coordinator Heidi Matthews; or Library Director Walker Evans, or call the Library at 412-276-3456.
Thank you for your understanding!
