Emerging Jazz Artist Series: Alex Perez
November 2 @ 3:00 pm
The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall and the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra launch an exciting new collaboration spotlighting rising stars alongside some of Pittsburgh’s most accomplished jazz musicians. This multi-generational series celebrates the city’s rich jazz heritage while showcasing fresh voices shaping its future.
Our next featured artist is trumpet player Alex Perez, a versatile freelance musician and instructor in the Pittsburgh area. A graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Perez is skilled in both classical and jazz trumpet performance. He is a member of the River City Brass Band, a former jazz instructor at Center of Life, and has played multiple shows with the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra. His experience ranges from teaching a master class at Seton Hill University to opening for rap artist Soulja Boy. This concert in The Studio features Perez alongside members of the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra—an ensemble dedicated to performing the broad scope of jazz styles and honoring Pittsburgh’s enduring legacy as a jazz hub.
