WWI Memorial

Ceremony at Carnegie’s World War I Monument

Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.

In honor of the centennial of the first Armistice Day, members of Carnegie’s American Legion Post No. 82 took it upon themselves to refurbish Carnegie WWI monument.

Carnegie’s monument was originally dedicated on November 11, 1931.

Join the American Legion and other community leaders for a ceremony at the monument.  Let’s commemorate this chapter in world history, our national history.  The monument is located on Beechwood Avenue, at the foot of “Library Hill.”   Rain or shine.

Following the ceremony warm up back at the Library & Music Hall
with camaraderie, coffee and dessert.
(History buff’s may want to come early for Kris White’s 1:00 p.m. talk on General James Longstreet in the Lincoln Gallery.  Kris a favorite ACFL&MH speaker.)
