USMC presents “Presidential Recollections” \nSaturday\, February 13\, 2016\, 1:00 pm \nKen has been appearing publicly as General Grant since 2009\, performing in a History channel production in 2010\, “Lee & Grant” \, in 2013 for an HBO series\, “Family Tree” in an episode set at a reenactment along with a Time Warner Cable commercial in 2014.  Currently he speaks at the events across the country  He was invited to  participate in the Remembrance Day parades for the past three Novembers in Gettysburg.  It is with a profound honor that he tells the story of one of America’s greatest military leaders and Ken takes it very seriously to reaffirm Grant’s place of honor among the most respected people of our nation’s history. Light refreshments served. Registration not required. Free and open to the public. 2nd Saturday Lecture Series made possible by the Massey Charitable Trust.

DESCRIPTION:Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait\nSponsored by Dollar Bank\nMonday\, February 15\, 2016 at 7pm \nJoin us for the 2nd performance of our “Listen Locally: The 115th Anniversary” series! \nThis annual Presidents Day performance of Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait” is a new tradition at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall. Under the baton of new Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong\, the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra presents a full program culminating in Copland’s tribute to our 16th President. The piece incorporates some of Lincoln’s most stirring oratory. Joining the ranks of distinguished orators\, KDKA’s Lynne Hayes-Freeland will narrate. \nThe performance begins at 7 pm\, and tickets are $15 Adults\, $5 Children 12 and under. Adult tickets will be $20 Day of Event. Includes light dessert reception in the Lincoln Gallery following the performance. \nPrior to the concert\, from 2-7pm\, visit our national treasure of a Civil War room\, the Captain Thomas Espy Post of the Grand Army of the Republic (recognized as the most intact of its kind in the country)\, as well as our rare collection of 100 Abraham Lincoln photographs. \nLimited free parking is available on site.
