SUMMARY:2nd Saturday Civil War Series: The World Will Never See the Like - The Gettysburg Reunion of 1913 with John L. Hopkins
DESCRIPTION:In Person in the Lincoln Gallery at ACFL&MH \n\n\n\nZoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9370579279Meeting ID: 937 057 9279 \n\n\n\nJohn L. Hopkins will join us to talk about his book\, The World Will Never See the Like: The Gettysburg Reunion of 1913\, which The Wall Street Journal called “a compelling\, poignant and sometimes heartbreaking account of the biggest gathering of the Blue and Gray since the Civil War.” \n\n\n\nIt’s a story of 53\,000 old comrades and former foes reunited and of the tension\, even half a century later\, between competing narratives of reconciliation and remembrance. For seven days the old soldiers lived under canvas in the stifling heat in a 280-acre encampment run by the U.S. Army. They swapped stories\, debated still-simmering controversies about the battle\, and on July 3 the survivors of Pickett’s Division and the Philadelphia Brigade shook hands across the wall on Cemetery Ridge. \n\n\n\nHopkins is a retired communication and public relations professional with more than three decades of experience in higher education\, nonprofit\, and agency settings. He was born and raised in New York City\, earned a bachelor’s degree from Williams College\, and was transplanted with his family to the Midwest 30 years ago. This is his first book.

SUMMARY:The Congruent Self: Community Starts With You\, Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Join licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Candice Coughenour for this two-part workshop series that explores the concept of congruency: the alignment between your thoughts\, feelings\, and actions\, and how it shapes your relationship with yourself and others. \n\n\n\nDesigned as a reflective and supportive space\, this series invites you to explore and reflect on your relationship to yourself and others as you move toward greater clarity\, honesty\, and alignment in your everyday life. You’ll receive a guided workbook\, take-home reflections\, and a resource list to support continued growth beyond this workshop. \n\n\n\n\nIn Part 1 (Wednesday\, June 3)\, we will focus on building awareness of your inner world and identifying where you may feel out of sync.\n\n\n\nIn Part 2 (Wednesday\, June 17)\, we will expand that awareness into relationships\, practicing ways to communicate and connect more authentically.\n\n\n\n\nBecause space is limited\, registration is required. Please register for each of the two sessions separately. Ages 18+ only\, please. Click here to register for Part 1\, and click here to register for Part 2. \n\n\n\nDisclaimer: This workshop is designed for learning and self-reflection and is not therapy.
