DESCRIPTION:Please join Congressman Conor Lamb\, members of Carnegie American Legion Post 82\, members of the 9th Pennsylvania Reserves\, elected officials\, friends and colleagues at 1:30 pm on Veterans Day\, Friday November 11.   We are delighted that sixth graders from Carnegie Elementary school are participating in the program with brief poetry readings.  The short\, moving ceremony ends with a bugler playing Taps. \n\n\n\nWhen we developed Library Park\, a flagpole opposite the Library entrance became an essential part of the design.  Since November 2017\, a Veterans Day ceremony has become tradition at the Library & Music Hall. \n\n\n\nAs home to the Captain Thomas Espy Post No. 153 of the Grand Army of the Republic\, Veterans Day has a special resonance at the Carnegie Carnegie.  Founded in 1866 for veterans of the Union Armed Service\, the G.A.R. laid the foundation for all veterans’ organizations to come. The Espy Post has been documented as the most intact G.A.R. post in the country. \n\n\n\nThe ceremony will be followed a coffee and cookies reception in the Lincoln Gallery.  The Captain Thomas Espy Post will be open from 12:30 until 3:00. \n\n\n\nThe ceremony takes place rain or shine.

DESCRIPTION:Regional favorite guitar and keyboard duo deliver a lively evening of pop & soft rock covers along with original works.Lead vocalist and guitar player Pete Hewlett landed his first recording contract with Phillips Mercury Records when he was 16. He went on to tour and record with the likes of Carly Simon\, Billy Joel\, Elton John and Amy Grant \n\n\n\nOn keyboards and vocals\, Scott Anderson is an Emmy Award-winning composer\, music director and producer. This seven-piece band with horns\, keyboard\, drums\, bass\, guitar\, and vocals effortlessly switch gears to play a variety of music styles spanning decades. The band’s distinctive sound maintains its contemporary feel while reaching back across the years to link with the greats who have come before them. Dr. Zoot will put the audience In the Mood (ala The Glenn Miller Orchestra)\, starting with the music of the ’40s with favorites of the era\, such as Frank Sinatra. From the 1940s\, swing into the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll and Motown classics of the 50’s-the ’60s. Dr. Zoot delivers hits by greats from The Temptations to The Beatles. Keep it cool as the band wraps up with music from the 70s\, including Kool & The Gang and more! PARKING: Onsite parking is available on a first-come\, first-served basis.
