The Mountain State, the 35th state and the Orphan State of the American Civil War — West Virginia played a key role in the War Between the States!


2016 American Battlefield Trust Teacher of the Year, Phil Caskey, a social studies educator at University High School in Morgantown, West Virginia will present on famous Civil War West Virginians connected to the Mountain State, patriotism and state pride as well as talk about a day in the life of a Civil War soldier including a hands-on interactive display.

Registration not required. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments served.
